Gerd Rheude has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the company since 1999.
Gerd Rheude was born April 5, 1945 in Hördt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
He attended secondary school in Hördt from 1951 to 1959 and undertook an apprenticeship as a pipe fitter from 1959 to 1962 at the Germersheim shipyard.
He worked for Nolte Möbel from 1962 to 1964, and in February 1964 joined Mercedes-Benz AG, Wörth plant as a sheet-metal worker. Gerd Rheude has been a member of the Works Council since March 1972 and in 1978 he became the chairman of the Wörth plant Works Council.
He has also been a member of the General Works Council and the Group Works Council since 1978, and a member of the European Works Council since 1998.
He currently holds the following positions: Member of the Board of Directors of the Rhineland-Palatinate health insurance fund (AOK), lay judge at the Mainz Regional Labor Court, Mayor of his home town of Hördt, member of the Advisory Council of the German Metalworkers' Union (IG Metall) and various positions within IG-Metall.
