Supervisory Board Election of Employee Representatives of Daimler AG
Sindelfingen, Germany, March 12, 2008
Today, app. 1,100 electoral delegates from all Daimler group locations gathered at the Trade Fair Hall in Sindelfingen in order to elect ten employee representatives (six internal employee representatives, three union representatives and one management representative) to the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG.
The election largely confirmed the offices of the employee representatives to the Supervisory Board. The following representatives were re-elected: Erich Klemm, current Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Jürgen Langer, Helmut Lense, Uwe Werner and Stefan Schwaab. Ansgar Osseforth was newly elected to the Supervisory Board.
The Trade Union representatives to the Supervisory Board are Dr. Thomas Klebe, who was re-elected, and the newly elected member Jörg Hofmann. With Valter Sanches the Supervisory Board will again have a foreign trade union representative to the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG sitting on the employees’ bench. Professor Dr. Heinrich Flegel will continue to represent management in the next Supervisory Board term.
The Supervisory Board consists of ten Supervisory Board Members who represent the shareholders and ten employee representatives. The Supervisory Board members are elected every five years. The Annual Meeting on April 9, 2008 will elect shareholder representatives Sari Baldauf and
Dr. Jürgen Hambrecht, who have thus far been appointed by the court. The Supervisory Board will elect the Deputy Supervisory Board Chairman from its members following the Annual Meeting. Moreover, the committee memberships of newly elected Supervisory Board members must be also be established.
The newly elected Supervisory Board members will begin their term of office after the Annual Meeting of the Shareholders in 2008. The appointments will end with the Annual Meeting in the year 2013.
