In the course of 2006, the DaimlerChrysler share price climbed from € 43.14 to € 46.80 (+8 percent). A strong upswing commenced in mid-February 2007 following the presentation of the figures for 2006 as a whole. This was mainly due to the excellent results posted by the Mercedes Car Group and the Truck Group. Another contributing factor was the announcement that DaimlerChrysler would be examining all of its options concerning the future of the Chrysler Group. As in the prior year, the DaimlerChrysler share maintained its position in many sustainability indexes ( Figure 7). In 2006, the DaimlerChrysler share was once again listed in the significant Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) as well as in other important ratings and rankings.
