Occupational health and safety
Management has worked together with the World Employee Committee to develop basic principles for overall occupational health and safety at the Group. These guidelines, which are binding on all employees, are based on the current legislation for each country and on the guidelines issued by the International Labour Organization (ILO) for business management systems concerning occupational health and safety (ILO/OSH-MS 2001). The introduction of the New Management Model combined healthcare management functions into an integrated organization, the “Health and Safety” unit.
The accident rates and sickness figures are carefully documented at all companies within the group. Daimler aims to produce the first standardized key figures concerning occupational health and safety by the end of 2008.
