Digital Service Report
If you’re planning to sell your car, it’s a good idea to have all the service and maintenance work documented. That’s because a correctly completed service book is a great selling point for used cars.
With the Digital Service Booklet (DSB), Mercedes-Benz is now introducing a digital service report throughout Europe that reliably stores all maintenance information in a central database. Members of the service staff enter the vehicle identification number as well as any performed maintenance work into the online system and print out a hard copy with the relevant data. As far as the customer is concerned, the process is convenient and reliable. And if a customer should lose a service record, the document can be reprinted by any maintenance shop. When needed, the DSB can display any maintenance servicing carried out during the vehicle’s entire lifetime in line with the terms of the warranty.
The electronic service log, which is available in 35 European markets, tells service employees in their own language what maintenance work has been performed. Since September 2007, the Digital Service Booklet has been available for new cars of the E-Class and CLS-Class. Other Mercedes-Benz passenger car production series will be added step by step.
